Junior Architectural Technologist

As a Junior Architectural Draughtsman at TBAD, you will play a vital support role in our design and execution process, assisting our team in creating accurate and detailed technical drawings that bring our projects to life.

Location

Parktown North, Johannesburg - ZA 

(On-site)

Responsibilities

  • Assist in producing detailed technical drawings and plans using Revit.

  • Support senior team members in preparing design proposals and presentation drawings.

  • Perform basic architectural detailing under supervision, ensuring alignment with project requirements.

  • Maintain and organize architectural plans, drawings, and specifications for projects.

  • Assist with updating architectural drawings for client properties.

  • Collaborate with project architects to refine design concepts.

  • Ensure all documentation complies with local regulations and company standards.

  • Assist with project administration, including filing, system updates, and document control.

  • Occasionally visit project sites to observe and record progress under supervision.

  • Assist with 3D drawings in Revit & Twinmotion (Render)

  • Demonstrate a willingness to explore and effectively utilize AI tools to enhance design processes, improve efficiency, and support innovative architectural solutions.

Duties

  • Work collaboratively with senior team members to meet project goals.

  • Prepare accurate and detailed drawings within project deadlines.

  • Update plans as per client or project team feedback.

  • Ensure proper organization of project documentation and filing systems.

Requirements

  • Education: Matric (Grade 12) with a Diploma or N.Dip in Architectural Technology or a related field.

  • Experience: 0–2 years of relevant experience in residential/commercial architectural drafting.

  • Software Skills: Proficiency in Revit is essential; basic knowledge of Twinmotion and Autodesk ACC apps is advantageous. Familiarity with MS Office tools (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) is preferred.

  • Transportation: Must have reliable means of transportation for occasional site visits.

Skills

  • Strong attention to detail and a commitment to accuracy.

  • Good communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment.

  • Basic organizational skills and the ability to manage multiple tasks.
