The project

SAVOYE is an unapologetic pavilion. Raised on a slender colonnade above a gently sloping landscape, the house preserves the ground plane beneath it — nature flows under, not around. The gesture is canonical, deliberate, and updated for contemporary use. The upper volume is a clean rectangular prism punctuated by a rooftop terrace and a spiral stair that links all three levels vertically. Ribbon windows wrap the long elevations, pulling borrowed landscape into every interior space. The programme is open and flexible: living, dining, and kitchen flow into one another without internal partitions, while bedrooms tuck into the shorter elevation. Inside, the finish is confident and minimal: terrazzo flooring with large-format aggregate, white plaster walls, slim-profile black steel window frames, and walnut joinery. A central fireplace in polished stone grounds the living volume without interrupting sight lines. SAVOYE is a house for clients who admire architectural history without wanting to live inside a museum. It honours its precedent by updating it — better insulation, better glazing, better systems, same clarity of idea.

“We love that the garden walks under our house. It is the single best architectural decision we have ever made.”
